Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Sleepy Opiate longed to escape the slowness of the South and dreamed of more in his early years of making music. Attempting to overcome the pain of his rough adolescence and desiring a faster and more fruitful life than he could craft for himself in his hometown, Sleepy Opiate’s music reflects his aching heart. Dull chronic pain, longing for more, mourning of the past, and the twinkle of a more exciting, beautiful life than he’s ever led before- just barely out of reach.
